Culture
The Église Saint-Donat in the Petit Plasne district is part of the Jura’s religious heritage. It is located at Rue du Paradis, 39800 Plasne.
The Ancien lavoir in Plasne has a dry-stone vaulted roof. The Lavoir de Plasne is located below the village and below the hamlet of Petit Plasne, at a spring with a built catchment. It consists of a spring-catchment basin concealed beneath a closed stone-vaulted roof and a larger basin fed by the spring’s overflow. This served as a washhouse and possibly also as a public watering trough for livestock.
Traditions
The cooperative cheese dairy Les Délices du Plateau is located in the village of Plasne, on the first plateau of the Jura Massif at an altitude of 600 metres, in the AOP production area for Comté and Morbier. Before 1940, two cooperative cheese dairies had already been producing Comté in the village for many years. Visits to Les Délices du Plateau include a tour of the cooperative’s production workshop and its maturing cellars.
The “Plasnimation” association organises the Plasne village festival every year.
