The Baume des Novalets includes a collapsed area caused by tectonic fault movements, measuring almost 200 metres in length, around 5 metres in width and, in places, more than 15 metres in depth.
The Baume des Novalets can be reached by road from the entrance to Mournans; parking is 1.6 km from the village, followed by a 100-metre forest path to the cave entrance.
