The Loue crosses the northern part of Chamblay. Planning your own trip includes the desire to rent a holiday apartment in Chamblay.
Culture
The Church of Saint-Étienne in Chamblay was completed in 1775. It is a neoclassical hall church designed by the architect Anatoile Amoudru, who came from Dole, and offers visitors three restored 18th-century paintings.
The Repaire des Radeliers de la Loue is a small museum founded in Chamblay in 2014. It displays models of rafts, tools, boat remains, as well as other documents and eyewitness accounts.
History
The Grande Rue preserves renovated old farmhouses and former manor houses connected with Chamblay's period as a timber transshipment port.
Nature
L'homme et la Loue runs along the Loue and begins in Chamblay. Seven information panels explain traces of the river's courses and introduce characteristic bird species found in the habitats it passes through. The walk is very easy, 4.4 kilometres long, and takes one hour.
La Morte des Fontaines is an old river branch separated from the Loue. It is considered a potentially important spawning and refuge area for fish.
For the L'homme et la Loue circular route, the car park at the church is designated as both the arrival and departure point.
Activities
The Sentier des Radeliers is a 15-kilometre-long trail that leads into the Chaux Forest and is accompanied by information panels about the history of timber rafting.
The Confrérie Saint-Nicolas des Radeliers de la Loue organises various events throughout the year, including raft reconstructions, navigation, exhibitions and conferences.
La Gaule du Val d'Amour offers fishing and nature workshops for leisure centres, schools and organised groups. Every year on National Fishing Day, it also organises an introduction to various fishing techniques for children and young people.
The designated fishing area of La Gaule du Val d'Amour is located in Lot No. 5 on the Loue.
Geographical location
From Dole, the road journey leads via Parcey and Mont sous Vaudrey before joining the D472 towards Mouchard and Salins-les-Bains.
