Moffans-et-Vacheresse: Holiday Apartments and Houses
Moffans-et-Vacheresse preserves a vivid piece of village history in the Lavoir de Vacheresse. The washhouse was built in the mid-19th century from local pink sandstone. Its washing area is covered with small, flat roof tiles. For a long time, the lavoir served as a social meeting place where the washerwomen gathered.
Nature and Trails
The 680-hectare woodland offers numerous opportunities for walks along footpaths. In addition, the 10-kilometre-long Sentier de la Sylve runs through the communal forests of Moffans-et-Vacheresse. The trail is particularly suitable for cycling tours.
The Forêt communale de Moffans-Vacheresse has a planned area of 678 hectares. Moffans itself is also one of the stops on the Route des Villages Fleuris de Franche-Comté.
Church and Historic Sites
The Church of Saint Christopher in Moffans was rebuilt in 1839. Some furnishings from the former church were reused in the present-day church. Saint Christopher is topped by a square bell tower with a pyramidal roof, built in 1862.
Another historical trace leads to a mill complex: it was initially used as a grain mill, subsequently as a mill, and later as an animal-feed factory. Its technical equipment has been preserved.
