Culture

The original Château de Marnay was built to monitor the crossing over the Ognon and to provide the inhabitants with refuge in times of danger. The entrance gate, manor house, polygonal tower and archive pavilion remain as visible remnants of the château. The Château de Marnay can only be viewed from the outside; the lithography workshop in the former manor house is accessible by appointment.

The Église Saint-Symphorien combines architectural elements from the 14th, 15th and 17th centuries. Inside the church, visitors can see a Way of the Cross made of enamelled terracotta, a Renaissance Pietà, a painting of the Rosary and the painting of the Vierge Miraculeuse. The Église Saint-Symphorien is open daily.

The Hôtel de Santans is an example of 16th-century urban secular architecture in the Renaissance style. It has paired mullioned windows; the coat of arms of the Santans family has been preserved on the upper-storey window frame. The Hôtel de Santans can only be viewed from the outside.
