Villars-Sous-Écot: holiday apartments and holiday homes

In Villars-sous-Écot, the choir of the former village chapel has been partially preserved in the cemetery. During the interior restoration of the building, a rib vault and two capitals were uncovered; one of them bears the coat of arms of Neuchâtel. In 1749, services there were prohibited because the building was at risk of collapsing. A new church was subsequently built in the centre of the village in 1757. The present village church has a bell-tower porch dated 1757, crowned by a four-sided dome. It also contains two paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as two twisted columns covered with carved vine leaves.

On the GR de Pays, it leads towards Villars-sous-Écot, through the centre of the village and down through the village to the football pitch.

Landscape

The narrow valley of the Bié has cut deeply into the plateau of the Doubs loop and separates Écot and Goux-les-Dambelin.
