Corte: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Citadelle de Corte is the only one of Corsica's seven citadels to have been built inland. It has been open to the public since 1984. An outdoor tour along the ramparts leads to stations featuring augmented reality applications.

Culture

The Musée de la Corse opened in June 1997 to house the ethnographic collection compiled by Père Louis Doazan, which had been collected on behalf of the Musée national des Arts et Traditions populaires. The museum has two permanent galleries and areas for temporary exhibitions and is located in the vicinity of Corte.

The Église de l'Annonciation was built in 1459 by Monseigneur Ambroise Arrighi d'Omessa, the Bishop of Aleria. The Palazzu Naziunale is the only surviving example of Genoese civil architecture in Corte.

The ruins of the Église de Santa Mariona and the historic site of the Église et Baptistère de San Giovanni are located in the vicinity of Corte.

Nature

The Restonica Valley is classified as a Grand Site de France. More than 30 kilometres of new hiking trails of all difficulty levels were opened in the lower, middle and upper sections of the valley from the summer season of 2024 onwards. A mule track accessible to hikers leads through the Tavignanu Valley from Corte.

The mountain Monte Cecu, the mountain Monte Tomboni and the summit Punta Finosa are located in the vicinity of Corte. The summit Punta a u Finellu and the ruins of the Chapelle San Giovanni are also located in the surrounding area of Corte.
