Perelli: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Perelli is dominated by Punta di l’Orsaja, which reaches a height of 1,438 metres. The village is also part of the Parc Régional de la Corse.

Nature and Landscape

The Boucle 23 circular hiking trail passes through Perelli, is approximately 9 kilometres long and takes around 3 hours. It was formerly called “ronde des fontaines”. The Boucle 24 circular hiking trail is 11.5 kilometres long, intended for experienced hikers, and leads from Ortale via Piazzali, Novale and Valle d’Alesani to Perelli.

The “Mare a Mare Nord” long-distance hiking trail also passes through Perelli and runs from Moriani to Cargèse. The Boucle 31 circular hiking trail begins at the parish church of Perelli and leads through a chestnut grove.

Culture and History

The parish church of Saint-Sylvestre may date from the 17th century or the first half of the 18th century and was remodelled in the 19th century. The ceiling vaulting over the nave features monumental murals depicting the Immaculate Conception, the Trinity and the four Evangelists.

The Chapel of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Perelli may date from the 19th century and was remodelled at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Perelli’s sights also include the parish church of San Silivestru and its bell tower.

Perelli is considered the birthplace of Petru Giovanni Ficone, known as Grossu Minutu, a mythical figure who is said to have been born in 1715. His pranks and anecdotes illustrate the Corsican “Macagna”.

Perelli consists of the seven hamlets of Fungaghja, Casenove, Paese, Pied’a Costa, Casella, Quercepiane and Ferrera.
