Culture

In the heart of the village stands the Église Saint Pierre aux Liens d’Antisanti, a Baroque church that was extended in 1844. During a recent restoration, the statue of Hercules that supported the pulpit was replaced by an angel’s head.

A Casa Pietrana is considered the oldest house in the village of Antisanti. Above the door is a supporting stone decorated with a cross and four round medallions; the sculpture probably dates from the 14th century. The house is not open to visitors.

A Casa Marianaghja is a strikingly tall and narrow house. Above the first-floor window is a stone characteristic of the 15th century. The house is not open to visitors.

A Caserna is a large building at the far end of the village of Antisanti. During the time of the notorious bandit Gallochju, it once housed the gendarmerie. The building is not open to visitors.

Local Produce

The Ferme Sorbelle in the Sorbelle district of Antisanti sells citrus fruits, olive oil, essential oils and liqueur directly from the farm.

At Ferme Sorbelle, visitors can also take a self-guided tour of aromatic and medicinal plants. By appointment, the farm offers a half-day introduction to the distillation of essential oils.
