Lac de Tolla is a reservoir on the Prunelli River and the largest lake in Corsica. The Tolla dam, built in 1956 and 88 metres high, forms a 115-hectare reservoir containing 38 million cubic metres of water, which supplies the Ajaccio area with hydroelectric power.

Culture
The oldest houses in Tolla date back to the 14th and 15th centuries. The documented houses are built of granite and traditionally covered with tiles.
Tolla church houses paintings from the Italian Renaissance, including a “Madonna and Child” from the estate of Cardinal Fesch. A heritage trail through Tolla focusing on the history of the village uses 17 information panels to present the history of the village and life in earlier times.
Water and landscape
From May to September, the Centre nautique on Lac de Tolla offers paddleboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, pedal boating, kayaking and canoeing. At Col de Mercughju, a viewpoint offers views of the village of Tolla and Lac de Tolla, whose water shimmers green and blue.
Things to do
The Via Ferrata de Tolla is located in the Prunelli Valley between Ocana and Tolla on the D3 at Col du Marcujo and takes an average of three hours. It leads to the Gorges du Prunelli. At the end, a panorama opens up over the entire valley, from its sources to the Gulf of Ajaccio.
The “Liaison intervillage de Bastelica à Tolla” hike connects the villages of Bastelica and Tolla. A mountain-bike tour offered by Corsica Mountain Bike starts at the entrance to Tolla and leads around Lac de Tolla via the dam. Corsica Mountain Bike rents out electric-assist mountain bikes in the upper Prunelli Valley.
Local produce
Local products from the Prunelli Valley include seasonal fruit and vegetables, eggs, traditionally produced cured meats and farmhouse cheese made from raw milk.
