Serriera lies on a hill covered with olive trees, is surrounded by forests and overlooks the Gulf of Porto. The protected coastal area of Bussaghja covers 74.77 hectares in the municipalities of Serriera and Partinello. Serriera is also part of the area of the Corsica Regional Nature Park.
Nature and Coastal Landscape
The landscape around Bussaghja includes sea rocks and cliffs that provide a habitat for the endemic plant Seseli précoce, which is listed on the Red List of threatened species. The cliffs of Bussaghja also provide a refuge for ospreys, pallid swifts and peregrine falcons. Serriera shares the Evisa/Ota/Serriera communal forest, which consists of conifers. In the wider regional surroundings of Serriera lies the Sabinetu territorial forest; the Corsican mouflon is also found in this regional context.
Beach and Sea
Bussaglia Beach is used for swimming and recreation. It consists mainly of pebbles and contains some sand. Bussaglia Beach is accessible to people with reduced mobility and has a mat and a wheelchair. Kayaks can be rented at Bussaglia Beach to reach Girolata.

History and Trails
The Sainte-Marie Church in Serriera was built at the beginning of the 20th century. Pinito was abandoned at the end of the 19th century. The ruins of houses and gardens in Pinito bear witness to the former life of a community that moved to Serriera. The path to Pinito begins in Serriera and leads through a forest before reaching the abandoned hamlet.
Getting Around
Serriera can be reached via a turnoff from the D81 in the direction of Calvi–Partinello. Parking is available along the road and on the outskirts of Serriera.
