The Calanche de Piana consist of striking pink granite rocks with cavities known as taffoni. Since 1983, the Calanche de Piana have been on the World Heritage List.

The Calanche de Piana are easily accessible from Piana. The Piana territorial forest is a 240-hectare forest of maritime pines with remarkable biodiversity. The Genoese tower of Turghiu overlooks the Gulf of Porto.

Trails
The Sentier Muletier, also known as the “ancien chemin d’Ota à Piana”, was the connecting route between Ota and Piana before the road was built. The Sentier Muletier descends via steps to the D81; the return journey is possible via the road or along the same path. The trail is signposted as a 1-hour-and-30-minute round trip and starts at the municipal stadium, 2 km from Piana in the direction of Porto.
The Château-Fort trail leads to a platform with a 180-degree panorama. The hike to Capo Rosso begins in Piana in the direction of Arone and is signposted as a 3-hour-and-30-minute round trip.
