Plage de Baracci borders a protected natural area. At the same time, it is suitable for swimming and walks by the sea.
The Sentier patrimonial au cœur d’Olmeto begins at the fountain at the entrance to the village. The long-distance hiking trail Mare e Mare Sud also passes through the Olmeto area.
Culture and History
The Genoese tower of Calanca is one of the Genoese towers on the coast of Olmeto. The chapelle du Saint-Esprit may date from the 13th or 14th century.
The Bronze Age archaeological site “Vestiges du Castello de Contorba” is located in Olmeto. It preserves a wall made of large granite blocks that encloses a circular area; a tower-like building stands in its centre.
Torre de l’Ortale is a former fortified house dating from the 16th century.
Wellness
Bains de Baracci is a thermal spa and wellness centre in Olmeto. It is supplied by naturally hot, sulphurous, mineral-rich thermal water whose therapeutic effects have been recognised since antiquity. The facilities include an indoor/outdoor pool with panoramic views.
