The Écomusée de Bastelicaccia is located in the former municipal school of Funtanaccia, which was built in 1888. Its immersive tour across three levels presents the products and traditional know-how of the Prunelli Valley, including cheese, cured meats, wine, olive oil, chestnuts, citrus fruits, honey and essential oils. The Écomusée de Bastelicaccia also has an area for temporary exhibitions and an area for young visitors.
Local Traditions
U Palmentu produces a cheese that is firmly rooted in the landscapes of Bastelicaccia. It also offers a three-hour guided tour of the farm. Visitors can take part in making cheese and brocciu.
Agriculture and Animals
I Ricci is an educational farm in Bastelicaccia, founded in 2017.
A 45-minute guided route leads visitors to goats, sheep, horses, ponies, cats, dogs and a llama, allowing them to get to know the animals.
During the school holidays, I Ricci offers children aged 9 and over the “soigneurs d’un jour” programme. They feed, care for and clean the animals; they also learn about veterinary practices.
