Contres is home to the Ancienne abbaye de Cornilly, a partially protected historic monument. Parts of the church, as well as the façades and roofs of the convent buildings around the former cloister area, have been preserved.

The parish church of Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Julitte is the starting point of the “En passant par la Boudinière” hiking trail. It was remodelled between 1867 and 1872 by the architect Jules de La Morandière.
Contres’ present-day washhouse dates from 1885.

“En passant par la Boudinière” is an 11-kilometre circular hiking trail starting in Contres. Eighty percent of the trail consists of natural paths.
The GamOver Festival offers older and newer video games, and tournaments are also on the programme. The festival takes place every year in the afternoon of the third Saturday in September.

The St-Michel family biscuit factory has been operating since 1905 and opens its workshop in Contres to visitors. The St-Michel workshop offers guided tours of the production workshops year-round, with a projection room and tasting area: Mondays to Fridays at 2 p.m. and Saturdays at 3:30 p.m.
Admission to the St-Michel shop in Contres is free; cakes are available for tasting there, including a special product range from the workshop.
