Préaux: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château de Préaux was built in the 14th century and was one of the residences of the de Preaulx family. The Indrois crosses Préaux along its entire length; its source is located at a place called Igneraie on the border between Villegouin and Préaux.

Culture and History

The story of Monique Serf is also connected with Préaux: she attended the school in Préaux and was subsequently referred to the village’s small hotel, the Hôtel Lanchais. Monique Serf stayed in Préaux for one year.

The historic sites of Abbaye de Beaugerais and Pyramide de Saint-Hubert are located near Préaux. The Prieuré de Villiers monastery is also located in the surrounding area. Further afield in the Préaux region is the historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame du Landais.

Water and Landscape

The Étangs de Guibouët in Préaux offer leisure and fishing opportunities. At the Étangs de Guibouët, there is a fishing spot designed for people with reduced mobility. The Étangs de Guibouët welcome groups by prior reservation.
