Beaulieu-Lès-Loches: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Canal de Beaulieu runs for 1.7 kilometres from south to north. The southern half is bordered by a path reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. A guided walk with commentary explains the canal’s origins and its use from the past to the present day.

Culture and history

The abbey church of Sainte-Trinité Abbey dates from the 11th and 15th centuries. The Maison des Templiers is a commandery dating from the 12th century and was listed as a historic monument on 11 December 1944. The former Saint-Laurent church was classified as a historic monument on 17 September 1952.

Paths and landscapes

The Prairies du Roy area has walking paths, picnic areas and information boards. The Beaux Lieux art trail leads from the centre of Beaulieu through the Prairies du Roy, the local lanes and the Petits Jardins de Beaulieu to the public garden of Loches. The Petits Jardins are largely open to the public and are suitable for walking and picnicking.

Places and events

The works on the Parcours des BEAUX LIEUX are created through partnerships between artists, companies and the children involved. A guided tour provides an opportunity to discover the 64-metre-high Grand Clocher made of tuffeau stone. The Moulin des Mécaniciens can be visited during events such as the Journées des Moulins or the European Heritage Days, as well as by groups upon reservation.

Market

The Beaulieu-lès-Loches market takes place every Sunday morning at the Mail Saint-Pierre and offers charcuterie, cheese, fruit, vegetables and baked goods.
