Culture and History

The Château de Chargé is located in Razines. The origins of the estate date back to the 11th century; in 1070, it was donated to the Abbey of Noyers. The chapel of the Château de Chargé has been listed as a historic monument since 17 September 1986.

The Ancienne église Sainte-Catherine is located on the road from Faye-la-Vineuse to Razines. It belonged to the Abbey of Noyers, which received it as a donation at the beginning of the 12th century. Its west façade features a round-arched doorway with preserved traces of moulding; the archivolt is decorated with a festoon pattern and a checkerboard design. The building consists of a timber-roofed nave ending in a flat chancel. A side aisle was added on the north side in the 15th century. The Ancienne église Sainte-Catherine was listed as a historic monument on 28 August 1950.

Those who choose Razines as a travel destination will want to rent a holiday apartment there.

Hiking

The hike through the Bois de Saint-Gilles begins at the Carroi des Sept Chemins. This starting point can be reached via a drivable track running between the centre of Razines to the west and the D20 or D107 roads to the east. The route alternates between meadows and the edge of the forest; at one point, three rows of vines run along the right-hand side.

Circuit 1 is a hiking trail in the commune of Razines in the Indre-et-Loire département. The route is approximately 8 kilometres long and takes an average of 2 hours.

The route through the Bois de Saint-Gilles is not marked, so a detailed map is essential. A picnic table is located at the Carroi des Sept Chemins, the starting and finishing point of the hike. No water point was found on the hike through the Bois de Saint-Gilles; there are no shops in the immediate vicinity.
