Saint-Lucien: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Saint-Lucien combines an unusual architectural detail with woodland and river scenery: the church has a shingle-vaulted nave whose wooden structure is supported by 9-metre-long wooden beams. At the same time, the village is located on the edge of the Rambouillet Forest and on the banks of the Maltorne, formerly known as the Moltroue.

Culture

Near the church and the village pond stands the washhouse of Saint-Lucien. It is fed by several springs. The village’s small cultural heritage also includes four village pumps: two in the village centre, one in La Louvière and one in Saugis.

La Tour is also now part of Saint-Lucien’s cultural heritage. The structure was built around 1958.

Nature

The wooded hills around Saint-Lucien are home to oaks, chestnuts, hornbeams, beeches and birches. The landscape described also includes sandy forest paths.

Deer and stags are often spotted on the way from Saint-Lucien Town Hall to Hermeray. At night, during the season, you can hear the stags bellowing there.

Local tradition

The 2024 Fête de la pomme was the fourth edition of Saint-Lucien’s apple festival. Visitors could learn about the traditional production of juice from cider apples.

In the centre of Saint-Lucien is Chambres de l’Ecurie, accommodation with guest rooms; the property is dedicated to horses.
