La Loupe: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
La Loupe combines remarkable architectural heritage with unusual cultural offerings and experiences related to history, games, hiking and fishing.
Culture
Today’s Château of La Loupe was built in 1665 according to plans by Vauban. A large Corps de Logis has been preserved; on the park side, the projecting section of the building has two niches on each floor framing the large window.
The Médiathèque l'Escapade houses a Micro-Folie. It offers artworks on a large screen, as well as paintings assembled as puzzles on tablets. The programme is complemented by operas and films with high-quality sound.
History
The Caves de l'Histoire offer an immersive, interactive historical experience in which visitors can relive a day in 1944. The local history is then explained in the Salon Résistance, in the Passage La Loupe bombardée and through accounts of life in 1944. The Caves de l'Histoire are open all year round on Saturdays and Sundays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Experiences
The traditional “Si On Jouait” games festival takes place in La Loupe. It is a family event for everyone and aims to introduce visitors to the world of board games or enable them to discover it anew.
The new route of the GR® 35 between La Loupe and Thiron-Gardais opened in 2023.
Nature
The Étang du Petit Gasloup is a 3,500 m² pond in the heart of the municipality of La Loupe. It was designed and created to make learning to fish easier and is the first fishing course in the Eure-et-Loir département to receive the “Découverte” label.
