Frazé: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At the heart of Frazé stands the Château de Frazé, with its outbuildings and park. The ensemble was classified as a historic monument by decree of 24 November 1948 and is located near the Foussarde River. Part of the château was built using bricks and roof tiles fired locally.

Culture and History

The architectural heritage also includes the Saint-François Tower. Its foundation is still made of Grison stone, above which there are rows of white stone. The Church of Notre-Dame de Frazé has Romanesque origins and was extended in the 16th century with four chapels featuring gables. Its Renaissance portal is classified as a historic monument; above the west door is a Flamboyant rose window dating from the late 15th century.

Another historical trace is the Manoir du Châtelier. It was an outlying defensive structure of the Château de Frazé, was destroyed during the Hundred Years' War, and rebuilt around 1500. The town's craft history also dates back a long way: a tileworks has been documented in the centre of Frazé since the end of the 15th century.

Nature

Fishing is possible at Frazé's municipal Étang de la Cayenne. Fishing permits are sold on site. The fishing season runs from the end of March to mid-September; in addition, Gaule Frazéenne organises a trout day there every April.
