Authon-Du-Perche: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Authon-du-Perche reveals its character between its historic town centre and the Perche countryside. The historic centre of Authon-du-Perche, dating from the 16th and 19th centuries, was formerly surrounded by ditches and is laid out concentrically on the slopes of the hill. The Site de la Goguerie is a nature recreation area in the hills of the Perche, amid gently sloping meadows and close to the town centre.

Culture

The Saint-André Church in Authon-du-Perche houses a 17th-century gilded silver monstrance, classified as a protected cultural object. At the corner of rue Basse and ruelle de la Croix-Blanche stood a Protestant temple that was in operation from 1606 to 1685. The site of the Saint-Lubin Chapel also has an ancient religious architectural history.

The hamlet of Saint-Lubin-des-Cinq-Fonts was named in honour of Saint Lubin and because of the numerous springs in the surrounding area.

Nature

The Site de la Goguerie provides convenient access to a fishing pond. The Saint-Lubin-des-Cinq-Fonts hiking route passes through sunken lanes in the bocage and along woodland paths to a place where five springs once flowed with beneficial waters. The “Bois et châteaux” mountain biking route in Authon-du-Perche runs between forests and cattle pastures.

Since 2024, the historical tour in Authon-du-Perche has comprised a total of 23 information panels about the history of Authon-du-Perche, Soizé and Saint-Lubin-des-5 fonts. The historical route “Authon-du-Perche au fil des siècles” can be reached by bus from Nogent-le-Rotrou via route 44. An interactive game via the “Piste & trésor” app is available for families and children in connection with this historical route.

As in previous years, the 13th edition of “La Rando du Facteur” in Authon-du-Perche offered three supervised routes of 5, 10 and 13 km.
