Vouzeron: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Vouzeron showcases the Sologne in all its historical and natural richness. The Ancien domaine de Vouzeron comprises two châteaux near a medieval motte-and-bailey castle site and bears witness to how a large hunting estate operated in the Sologne during the Belle Époque. In 1995, part of the estate was listed as a historic monument.

Vouzeron lies in the heart of the Sologne forests. The Sologne is home to ponds, rivers and pine forests. Numerous trails in and around Vouzeron are ideal for walks on foot or by bicycle.

Culture and history

The village’s historical character continues with the Rallye-Vouzeron: it preserves the tradition of the Equipage Vouzeron-Sologne, founded by Baron Roger in 1884, and takes part in numerous Vénerie events and demonstrations. The Maison de la Chasse et de la Nature – La Feuillarderie in Vouzeron also features a scenography about life in the world of Vénerie and the forest.

Hunting and Vénerie

In the Vierzon-Vouzeron state forest, the ONF offers day hunts involving stalking, high-seat hunting or bow hunting. Subject to the hunting season and cull plan, day hunts in the Vierzon-Vouzeron state forest include red deer, roe deer and wild boar. They are accompanied by an experienced hunting guide who is familiar with the area and its wildlife.

On 6 January 2025, a shuttle connection was scheduled for Vouzeron to Vierzon SNCF railway station, departing at 7:25 a.m. and returning at 6:20 p.m.
