Thauvenay showcases its culinary side at the educational farm La Bête Noire, where visitors can learn about the production of Crottin de Chavignol. The farm is located near the Loire à Vélo route and offers tastings of five stages of Crottin de Chavignol maturation, accompanied by a glass of Loire wine or apple juice.

Domaine Éric Louis offers guided tours of typical Sancerre cellars followed by a tasting of five Sancerre wines and Crottin de Chavignol. In Thauvenay, the Jeep Wine Tour offers four nostalgic wine-tourism trips by jeep, which can optionally be combined with wine, Crottin de Chavignol and apéritif platters.

Culture and History

The parish church of Saint-Pierre in Thauvenay was built in 1865 according to plans by the arrondissement architect Charles Guillard. Two towers of the enclosure, with loopholes, are still preserved on the château grounds.
