Saint-Pierre-Les-Bois: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saint-Pierre-les-Bois reveals its scenic side at the Étangs de Bois Doré: Two bodies of water lie in a green area covering around ten hectares. Fishing is open there from the beginning of April to the end of October, and several wooden tables are available for a picnic break.

Culture and Events

The Atelier Théâtre « Eclats de Scène » has shaped Saint-Pierre-les-Bois for more than 25 years with summer theatre performances. Flea markets and gatherings of vintage vehicles are also organised in Saint-Pierre-les-Bois by the Association les Amis des Ecoles and the comité des fêtes.

History

Construction of the Catholic church of Saint-Pierre-les-Bois began in the 12th century. It was restored in 2011 and features a very wide single-nave layout as well as a separate choir.

The historic site of Abbaye Bois-d'Habert is located in the vicinity of Saint-Pierre-les-Bois. In the wider region are the historic sites of Abbaye de Noirlac, Abbaye des Pierres and Abbaye de La Prée.

From 1891 to 1951, residents could take the train known as the “tacot” at the former Saint-Pierre-les-Bois railway station.
