Oizon: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

The architecture of the Château de La Verrerie illustrates the transition from late French Gothic to the Italian Renaissance. The Renaissance wing was built around 1525 and has nine arcades. The entire Château de La Verrerie has been classified as a historic monument since 1986; the reception rooms are open to visitors.

The Église Saint-Martial also preserves notable evidence of its architectural history. It dates from the 12th or 13th century. The western part retains a barrel-vaulted, timber-clad vault with a visible roof structure. Chapels were added in the chancel area in the 15th century.

Nature and trails

The Étang de Nohant is a one-hectare pond fed by a first-category river. Fishing with a rod and by casting is possible at the Étang de Nohant.

There are two botanical walking trails in the grounds of the Château de La Verrerie. The botanical and cultural-history trail of Oizon was created in 2019 and offers two route options of 5.1 km and 4 km.
