Colombiers: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
At Château de la Salle, the façades and roofs, the fireplaces of the drawing room and dining room dating from the 15th century, and the entrance portal are protected as historic features; the listing was made by decree of 10 December 1987. The existence of the château has been documented since the 14th century, it acquired its present appearance in the 15th century, and it was restored in the second half of the 17th century.
Waterways and Trails
The Pont-canal de la Tranchasse was built between 1829 and 1834 according to a project proposed by engineer Vauvilliers on 22 August 1822. It crosses the Cher between Colombiers and Ainay-le-Vieil, is 96 metres long, and consists of eight shallow arches.
The “14 – Boucle de la Tranchasse” route is designated as an easy trail for hiking, with a duration of 1 hour 50 minutes, and for mountain biking, with a duration of 45 minutes. The “La plaine de Malvault à Colombiers” route begins in front of the Église Saint-Martin and is signposted with yellow trail markings.
Activities
Sport Colombiers Saint-Amand Karting has 17 recreational karts for introductory karting sessions and mini-races for amateur groups. The facility also offers a training track for licensed drivers and an FFSA competition track.
Culture
Visible remains of the Gallo-Roman aqueduct from Meslon to Drevant can be seen in Colombiers. The historic site of Abbaye de Noirlac is located in the vicinity of Colombiers. Further afield in the region are the historic site of Abbaye Bois-d'Habert, the Musée Charles-Louis-Philippe museum, and the historic site of Abbaye des Pierres.
