Bruère-Allichamps: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Bruère-Allichamps reaches far back into the past with its Gallo-Roman milestone column: it dates from the 3rd century and has been protected as a historic monument since 26 August 1909. It was found in 1737 near the church of Allichamps; in 1799, it was moved to the square in Bruère at the instigation of Béthune-Charost.

Culture and history

The Prieuré d'Allichamps is protected as a historic monument and is the last surviving testimony to an important station on the Roman road from Avaricum to Néris-les-Bains. For forty years, it has been more than an exhibition venue: a lively space, an artistic meeting place and a place for experimentation.

Châteaufer was built between 1666 and 1670 for Charles Le Fer on the site of the former parish of Allichamps.

Monastery and sightseeing

At Noirlac, visitors can explore eight areas of monastic life: the cellars, cloister, abbey church, chapter house, warming room, refectory, and the dormitories of the monks and lay brothers. At the Abbaye de Noirlac, the “résoNance” installation has offered a sound and musical experience throughout the monument every afternoon since April 2024.

Nature and regional offerings

At the Domaine de ChâteauFer, there is a freely accessible outdoor tour with an audio guide. Tours of the château, “Renaissance d’une maison de champs”, are offered exclusively by reservation.

ChâteauFer offers vegetable baskets arranged online, which can be collected directly from the farm. The Châteaufer estate is home to nearly one hundred species of oak from around the world, as well as 10,000 trees and shrubs planted in an agroforestry system.

Circular route

The Circuit de la vallée du Cher is an easy 21.3-kilometre loop that visits Bruère-Allichamps.
