Brinay: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Brinay can be discovered through its specific sites: the Église Saint-Aignan, including its murals, has been classified as a French “Monument historique” by decree of 20 July 1972. Its choir is decorated with 12th-century Romanesque murals depicting scenes from the life of Christ. Admission is free; complimentary guided tours are available on request.

Culture and Village History

The Village XIXème de Brinay offers visitors a heritage experience from the second half of the 19th century. The visitor trail leads from the village farm to the dairy, the washhouse and the fountain, following the water cycle through the village. The Village XIXème de Brinay can be visited free of charge and independently all year round.

The Halle des Métiers is also housed in a renovated 19th-century farm building. The craftspeople based there offer demonstrations of traditional skills; the hall also sells the products made by the craftspeople represented there.

Wine and Regional Specialities

The Cave Romane de Brinay is located in a renovated old Berrichon farmhouse in the centre of Brinay. It has a tasting and sales cellar for private customers. The sales cellar presents wines from the three appellations of Quincy, Reuilly and Châteaumeillant in the Centre-Loire region.

The wine selection also includes Domaine Jean-Michel Sorbe – Le Sentier du Vin: guided tours for individual visitors are available there on request and last an average of 50 minutes.

Pond and Fishing

The pond in Brinay is open for fishing, subject to the rules and permit requirements of the responsible authorities. Fishing permits for the pond are sold at Brinay Town Hall.
