Lacrost: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
On the left bank of the Saône, opposite the town of Tournus, Lacrost is situated on a rocky promontory.
Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Lacrost combines the search for accommodation with a specific choice of location.
Culture
The church of Lacrost is situated at an elevated position in the centre of the village and is designed in the Burgundian Romanesque style. Inside, it houses the statue of “Notre Dame de Grâce”.
Traces of local craft traditions can also be found elsewhere: quarry workers, stonemasons and members of the Compagnons du Devoir left their emblems on houses and tombstones in Lacrost.
History
The washhouse of Lacrost lies south of the village below the Chemin de Préty. It has been recorded in the municipality’s list of properties since the end of the 16th century.
The basin of the washhouse is covered by a stone vault. The polished edges of the basin are made of pink stone; each stone forming the rim is carved according to the so-called “en cadettes” system.
Geographical Setting
South of Tournus, the Pont de Lacrost bridge carries Départemental Road 975 across the Saône towards Lacrost. Pont de Lacrost consists of three semicircular concrete arches resting on two piers in the river.
Nature
Every year in September, Lacrost hosts the “La Crotaise” walk. The routes lead to the sights and landscapes of the municipality.
