Saint-Jacut-les-Pins: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Moulin à eau de la Vallée in Saint-Jacut-les-Pins is still in operation. Its waterwheel and stone millstones are used to produce flour. The mill complex includes preserved outbuildings of the farm, the former miller’s house, a bread oven and a spring.

Things to Do

The “Viens à Saint Jacut les Pins” treasure hunt is available year-round, seven days a week. It takes place via the Les Trésors du Morbihan app, starts at the La Chataigneraie car park and takes approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes on foot.

Tropical Parc is an exotic visitor park in Saint-Jacut-les-Pins. Its 7 hectares are home to seven themed gardens: Indonesian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Australian, African and Jurassic. The park combines plants, animals and handicrafts from different continents.

Culture

The Musée des traditions locales is housed in a former pigsty outbuilding of the mill farm. It displays tools and objects relating to fieldwork, household activities and the processing of hemp and flax. Visits are possible independently without a guide or with a guide by request.

Four windmills are visible on the Butte des Cinq Moulins, and an educational trail explains the history of the site. The hill is known as a place of rare botanical diversity.

Trails and Landscape

The Circuit des étangs circular walking trail is 8 kilometres long and connects forest paths, small paved roads and viewpoints.

The Périple des Moulins route passes through pine forests, heathland and rural roads to various types of mills, including watermills and windmills.

The Circuit VTT La Ronde des Pins mountain bike loop starts at the Moulin de la Vallée. It passes through the Étangs de Bodéan and the slate quarries, as well as along numerous small paths and forest tracks.
