Plumelin: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Plumelin combines circular trails, the route of a former railway line and religious sites with historic destinations in the surrounding area. This character is particularly evident on the paths through the village and along its historical traces.

Trails

The Circuit du Tarun connects Plumelin, Moustoir-Ac and Locminé and runs along the former Baud–Locminé railway line. The Circuit des Ajoncs starts at the Salle Jean Corlay, is 4.5 km long and has a stated duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes; along its route, it passes the small railway station of Plumelin.

In Plumelin, two circular trails also pass near the Rocher de Kervadail, whose weight is stated to be 500 tonnes.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Saint-Quidy dates from the 15th century and houses statues of Saint Anthony and Saint Armel. Kermaria is the mother house of the Filles de Jésus and a pilgrimage and devotional centre dedicated to Saint Joseph; the community was moved from Bignan to Plumelin in 1860.

The ruins of Église Saint-Sauveur et Saint-Colomban are located in the immediate vicinity of Plumelin, while the historic site of Abbaye de Lanvaux lies in the surrounding area of Plumelin.

The listed Fontaine de Saint-Mélaine is located a few hundred metres east of the village near two menhirs, dates from 1767 and has three basins. The Croix de Kercloarec is located near this fountain. It was listed in 1935, has an altar and depicts the Crucifixion.

Surrounding Area

In the wider regional surroundings of Plumelin are the Château du Plessis-Kaër and the Château de Meudon. The beach of Plage de Kerbilouet and the islands of Île Irus, Île de Boëdic and Île Drénec are also located in this wider regional area.
