Lanouée: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the village of Pomeleuc in Lanouée, 56120 Forges de Lanouée, stands the Chapelle Saint-Mélec, also known as Notre Dame des fleurs or Chapelle de Pomeleuc. It dates from 1220, was restored in 1639 and extended in the 18th century. It contains an arm-shaped reliquary of Saint Mélec made of tin and wood, dating from the late 14th or early 15th century.

Culture

The Église Saint-Pierre is a church dating from the 12th and 15th centuries that was restored in the 19th century. It contains three wooden altarpieces from the 17th century and has an 18th-century wrought-iron choir screen, which is apparently attributed to Eustache Roussin.

The Calvaire de Pomeleuc is a 16th-century calvary cross near the chapel in Lanouée. The Calvaire Saint-André stands in the upper part of the Bourg de Lanouée and was restored by the municipality in April 2014. The municipality of Forges de Lanouée has the 3,800-hectare Lanouée Forest to the north and the Nantes–Brest Canal to the south as natural boundaries; the canal was built in the bed of the River Oust.
