The Forêt de Trémelin covers more than 700 hectares. The Circuit de la Forêt de Trémelin is an easy 6.5 km route starting at the Kermainguy car park.

Nature and trails

The 7-hectare Parc du Bunz is a natural area with views over the Blavet Valley. Its paths lead to several viewpoints, including one with unobstructed views over the Blavet. The Parcours sensoriel de la Charbonnière allows visitors to explore the Forêt de Trémelin through different senses.

For more challenging cycling, there is the Circuit du Lavoir: the difficult 12.4 km mountain bike route runs through the Bois de Trémelin and around the Étang du Ty Mat.

Water and activities

The Parc d’Eau Vive is located on the Île de Locastel in the Blavet and features a purpose-built kayaking course with currents, rapids, obstacles and slalom gates. On the Blavet, the Parc d’Eau Vive allows independent descents on several routes ranging from a half-day trip to several days.

West Park has a 500 m-long course for wakeboarding, water skiing and kneeboarding; these activities are available from the age of 8. West Park also offers licence-free electric boats for exploring the Blavet. West Aqua Park complements this with an inflatable water obstacle course, accessible from the age of 6 and supervised by lifeguards.

Culture and history

The Écomusée des Forges displays photographs, eyewitness accounts, tools and work clothes relating to local industrial history. It also presents the history of the forges founded in 1860 and closed in 1966.

The Forges d’Hennebont employed 3,000 people in 1936.

Local life

The Marché des producteurs à Lochrist is a weekly market with local producers and craftspeople.
