In Saint-Onen-la-Chapelle, the La Balade Gourmande hike is 9.5 kilometres long, begins at the community hall in Saint-Onen-la-Chapelle and takes 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Culture and history
The Prieuré Saint-Onen church was originally a priory dependent on Saint-Méen Abbey. The north chapel of the Lords of Boishamon at the Prieuré Saint-Onen dates back to 1557; the tower of the Prieuré Saint-Onen church was built in 1645.
In the vicinity of Saint-Onen-la-Chapelle are Tombeau de Merlin, La fontaine de Jouvence and Le Chêne de Guillotin, all ancient sites. In the wider region around Saint-Onen-la-Chapelle, there is also La Fontaine de Barenton, likewise an ancient site.
Festivals
The Saint-Onen-la-Chapelle Comité des Fêtes lists the Fête d’automne as one of its main events. At the event held on 27 September 2025, an art exhibition took place in the community hall; a soapbox race was held on Rue de l’Étang.
