Saint-Marcan: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Saint-Marcan offers a clearly defined discovery trail with the Circuit du Télégraphe de Chappe: the easy, 8.2-kilometre route starts in the village, can be explored on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback, and passes through a granite massif featuring Breton heathland and bocage landscapes, as well as old paths cut into the granite. Remarkable viewpoints offer views of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Along the way, the trail passes the Neolithic Menhir de la Roche-Longue and the Croix Seigneur, a medieval engraved stone cross.

The Circuit des Deux Vallées connects Saint-Broladre and Saint-Marcan.

Culture and history

The parish church of Saint-Marcan dates from the second half of the 18th century and was altered around 1847. It features a bell-tower porch with an imperial roof and a campanile.

The Télégraphe de Chappe in Saint-Marcan was built in 1799 as part of the Paris–Brest line, which connected Mont-Dol and Mont-Saint-Michel. To help visitors understand its mechanism, the Télégraphe de Chappe offers a guided tour.
