Mouazé: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Bas Bourg of Mouazé is a very old historic village center. The village’s history includes the Church of Saint-Melaine and the former use of the Illet River, for which the Moulin de La Piglais mill is direct evidence.

History

The present-day Church of Saint-Melaine was built between 1897 and 1901 according to plans by the architect Frédéric Jobbé-Duval, who came from Rennes. Its nave features dark wood paneling and polychrome decoration. In the Ille-et-Vilaine department, the Church of Saint-Melaine is Frédéric Jobbé-Duval’s only religious building.

The Chêne des Plaids was a meeting place for the local lords in the Middle Ages and is still standing.

The Illet River runs from north to south through the entire area of Mouazé.

Active Places

Mouazé’s skate park is located on the edge of the industrial estate at the entrance to the village, behind the football pitch. A bike pump track was recently built around Mouazé’s skate park. Minors must be accompanied by an adult when using Mouazé’s skate park.
