Peumérit can be discovered in a special way through its religious buildings. The Church of Saint-Annouarn was built between the 12th and 16th centuries and displays architectural features of the Pont-Croix school. Inside, it has a listed flamboyant Gothic stained-glass window dating from 1539.
Culture and history
The Saint-Joseph Chapel was founded in 1649 by the lords of Rubien. In 1981, a mural dating from the 17th century and inspired by folk art was discovered beneath the plaster. By decree of 21 December 1984, the chapel was listed as a historic monument. It is located in a landscaped, enclosed grounds.
Opening hours and local market
The Church of Saint-Annouarn is open to the public on Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon in summer, from mid-July to mid-August. A market featuring local producers takes place from February to November in the enclosed grounds of the Saint-Joseph Chapel. Producers of cheese, milk, bread, vegetables and honey gather there.
Nature, animals and exercise
La Pommeraie animal park offers a walk through a wooded and flower-filled setting, with the opportunity to interact with farm animals. It also features educational beehives and an exhibition about bees.
The Espace sportif et de loisirs sports and recreation area in Peumerit includes a fitness trail with various modules for endurance training, strength training and stretching exercises. Hiking trails in Peumerit lead to the menhirs and the Penquelenec dolmen, which are located along the trails as stopping points.
