Culture and history

The Church of Saint George in Botsorhel has a Latin-cross floor plan with three naves. Near the hamlet of Lesconais lies the Chapelle du Christ, an 18th-century chapel. The date 1738 is inscribed on it; it was probably rebuilt on the site of an older structure.

The Croaz-an-Alleguen cross is probably considered the oldest cross in Botsorhel and may date back to the end of the Middle Ages. The Saint-Ener cross has a base bearing the date 1813 and combines elements from the Middle Ages and the 17th century.

Only the moats fed by a stream remain of the 16th-century Kergariou castle. They mark the boundaries of the former terrace of the fortified camp. The covered washhouse of Kerizella is a 19th-century structure made of slate and granite. It preserves the edges of the basins made from slate slabs that served as washboards.

The châteaux in the area around Botsorhel include the Manoir de Kerroué, the Château du Mur, the Château de Goasmelquin and the Château de Rosanbo.

Landscape

The Roc Gouino moorland is home to the sources of the Douron River. The Guernéholet peat moorland is home to the source of the Guic River; part of the area lies in Plougras in the Côtes-d’Armor department.

Named peaks in the wider regional surroundings of Botsorhel include Ménez Fanteu, Roc ar Feunteun, Roc'h Trédudon and Roc Trévezel.

Trails

The Les sentiers buissonniers route initially runs for 150 metres along Rue du Ponthou and then connects to the GR® de Pays des Monts d’Arrée. The Menez Kerven VTT – 12 mountain-bike circuit passes a few hundred metres from the centre of Botsorhel and points to the church there.
