Beuzec-Cap-Sizun: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Pors Lesven is connected to the GR34 coastal path, allowing hikes along a succession of coves, rocky headlands and viewpoints overlooking the Atlantic.

Coast

Pors Peron features steep cliffs, fine sand, rocks shaped by the tides and ever-changing Atlantic waters. Plage de Pors Lesven lies between rocky promontories and cliffs, surrounded by the typical heathlands of Cap Sizun and offering views of the horizon over Douarnenez Bay.

Nature and history

Pointe de Kastel Koz combines steep cliffs and wild heathlands with views over Douarnenez Bay. Kastel Koz was already inhabited in prehistoric times and became a fortified village during the Iron Age, protected by earthworks. Pointe de Kastel Koz can be reached on foot via the GR34 coastal path and offers the remains of defensive earthworks, views over Douarnenez Bay and blooming heathlands.

At Pointe du Millier, a peaceful valley crossed by a stream leads between moss-covered rocks to a pebble beach.

Culture and history

The Church of Saint-Budoc and Notre-Dame de la Clarté is classified as a historic monument („Monument historique“). It was built between the 16th and 17th centuries. The inscription „LAN MIL VCLII (1552) GUIFURON“ is visible in the roof space on the south side of the bell tower. The church is open to visitors every day of the week.

The Saint-Konogan Chapel, built in the 16th century, is dedicated to an Irish monk of the same name, who is traditionally invoked for the healing of fever and the protection of the sick. The Saint-Conogan Chapel, also known as „de Lescogan“, is a granite building in the shape of a Latin cross on the road between the villages of Lescogan and Kersquivit.

Bateau de Saint-Conogan can be reached via hiking trails connecting Moulin de Keriolet with Phare du Millier. It is one of the important tourist sites in the municipality of Beuzec-Cap-Sizun.

The Sanspez Chapel, probably built in the 17th century, is dedicated to Sainte-Espérance and was restored in 1820 and 2003. The covered passage of Kerbalannec is a prehistoric burial and ritual site; excavations in 1879 uncovered, among other things, pottery fragments, bowls, spearheads and axes.

Moulin de Keriolet was built in 1868 and received an eight-metre waterwheel in 1878. To reach Moulin de Keriolet, it is recommended to follow the signs to Pointe du Millier; the car park is about a 500-metre walk from the mill. The restored Moulin de Keriolet allows visitors to rediscover this unique cultural heritage site.

Festivals

The Fête des Bruyères takes place every year on the second Sunday in August. Its procession runs from the school in the centre of Beuzec to Pointe de Kastel-Koz; a Breton wedding brings the procession to a close.
