In the centre of Saint-Connec stands the Église Saint-Gonéry. The church, built of slate and granite, dates from the 18th century and has the ground plan of a Latin cross. Its spire was completed in 1787.
Culture and history
The Fontaine Saint-Gildas is located in Tréhouët, Saint-Connec. It is a fountain made of slate and granite dating from the 18th century. A stone on its gable wall bears an inscription from 1694 in honour of Saint Gylda.
The Fontaine Saint-Gonnery is also located in the centre of Saint-Connec, near the religious building. It already existed in the 15th century and was rebuilt. A washhouse supplied by its spring was constructed in front of the Fontaine Saint-Gonnery.
The Bernoué archaeological site in Saint-Connec includes an underground structure from the Iron Age, interpreted as a storage facility. Excavations also uncovered a tumulus with a central burial pit and associated burial remains. Chapels are part of Saint-Connec’s local cultural heritage.
