Pédernec: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Pédernec showcases the different facets of a locality: religious buildings, paths along the Jaudy, a hill offering far-reaching views, and destinations in the immediate and wider surroundings stand side by side.

Culture and History

At the Chapelle Saint-Hervé, the porch and bell tower date from the 17th century. The nave dates from the 19th century and was restored in 1939. On Sundays, the chapel is open from 2 to 6 p.m. from July to September, except in the event of unforeseen closure.

The Chapelle Notre-Dame de Lorette is listed as a historic monument. Its door features four carved wooden panels, as well as a Gothic inscription and two carved granite angels.

The parish church of Saint-Pierre has a southern transept and a southern eaves wall dating from the early 16th century; its sacristy dates from 1637. Inside, it also contains a carved bas-relief depicting the martyrdom of Saint Barbara and a 17th-century rosary altarpiece.

The Chapelle Sainte-Anne dates from the 16th century. It was initially dedicated to Saint Gonery and was probably dedicated to Saint Anne between 1650 and 1660.

The historic site of Abbaye de Begar is located in the immediate surroundings of Pédernec. The surroundings of Pédernec also include Kastell Tonkedeg Castle and the historic sites of Abbaye Saint-Croix and Peter II Castle.

Landscape

Menez Bré reaches an elevation of 302 metres and has an orientation table offering a panorama from the Monts d’Arrée to the Côte de Granit Rose. Events are held at Menez Bré on 15 August as part of the Fête du Cheval.

The wider region around Pédernec is home to the summit of Ménez Fanteu, Plage de Trestraou beach, Legonet Island and Île du Milieu.

Hiking
