Louannec can be discovered through specific natural and coastal sites: Le Lenn is a birdwatching location. Winter is the best season for birdwatching at Le Lenn; more than 15 bird species can be observed there. Louannec’s small beaches offer opportunities for kayaking, while coastal fishing for shellfish and crustaceans is possible along the coast.

The long-distance GR34 hiking trail runs along Louannec’s waterfront promenade. Cycle route no. 13 from Louannec to Trézény is an easy, 17.8-kilometre circular route starting in Louannec.

History and Architectural Heritage

The Manoir de Barac'h in Louannec is listed as a historic monument; it was listed by decree dated 22 March 1930. The Manoir du Cosquer in Louannec is a manor house; its main building dates from the first quarter of the 16th century and was added to the supplementary inventory of historic monuments on 5 October 1964.

The parish church of Saint-Yves in Louannec was rebuilt from 1896 to 1898 according to the plans and cost estimates of the diocesan architect Eugène Le Guerrannic and is designed entirely in the regional Neo-Gothic style. Saint Yves was rector of Louannec from 1292 to 1297. The church contains a group of three statues depicting Saint Yves between the Poor Man and the Rich Man, which was protected as a historic object on 26 July 1962.

Nantouar and the Coast

The Nantouar lighthouse stands on the shore of Nantouar Bay, below and north of Louannec. Until 1976, together with the leading light at Kerjean, it formed an alignment marking the western passage into the roadstead of Perros-Guirec.
