Bourbriac: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Bourbriac takes you from Bronze Age burial sites to hiking trails through the wooded Argoat. Historical evidence and clearly described routes give the area a varied, tangible profile.
Culture and History
Among the oldest sites are the Tumulus of Tanouédou and the burial vault of Kerivoa. Both date from the Bronze Age and have been classified as historic monuments since 22 July 1914. The Church of Saint Briac has been classified as a historic monument since 11 October 1907. It contains a 12th-century crypt, as well as a sarcophagus and the tomb of Saint Briac from the early 16th century; both are classified.
Other historic buildings include the Chapelle du Danouët, dating from the 14th to the 16th century, which has been listed as a historic monument since 7 August 1964, and the Saint Houarneau calvary cross from the 16th century, which has been listed as a historic monument since 14 September 1964. Feunten Sant is a fountain of Saint Briac from the 17th century on Rue d’Avaugour. The Chapelle de Pénity was rebuilt at the beginning of the 19th century and preserves architectural elements from the 14th century.
Hiking
The Circuit An Tri Eskop is a 12-kilometre, moderately difficult circular hike marked in yellow. It runs through the Pays de Bourbriac in the heart of the wooded Argoat, the “land of forests”. The circuit includes the Fontaine des trois évêques, a meeting point of the former parishes of Magoar (Diocese of Dol-de-Bretagne), Kérien (Cornouaille) and Bourbriac (Tréguier).
Nature
There are two hiking trails in the private Bois de Coat-Liou, taking 45 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes respectively. The Bois de Coat-Liou is accessible to the public exclusively on foot from March to September. The summit of the Tour de Coat Liou can be reached.
