Andel: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Andel combines a distinctive landscape with historical landmarks and rural impressions. The town centre is located on an 87-metre-high granite plateau, while the River Le Gouessant borders the town to the south. The Lamballe SNCF railway station, with a TGV stop, is located in the vicinity of Andel.

Nature and Walking Trails

Andel has the Circuit des Gernottes walking trail. It was created through the cooperation of landowners, the municipality, Lamballe-Armor and volunteers from the “Joie de Vivre” club.

Culture and History

The Chapelle du Saint-Esprit in Andel was built on the site of an older chapel. Its interior features friezes with carved angel heads and coats of arms; today, the chapel houses Andel’s municipal library.

The history of the windmill is also present in the townscape: a tower remains, having lost its sails and roof. The windmill of Andel was built around 1830 and ceased operation shortly before 1914.

The Château du Clos-Neuf was the seat of the parish’s most important seigneurial estate and belonged to the Du Breil family. Following extensive alterations at the beginning of the 20th century, only the Château du Clos-Neuf has survived. The Chapelle Saint-René du Clos-Neuf is a private chapel and serves as a burial place for members of the Du Bois Dulier family.

Farm Life and Regional Products

At the Ferme de Marie-Jeanne, visitors can freely walk among goats, rabbits, sheep, pigs, donkeys, peacocks and poultry. The farm shop sells poultry, farmhouse cheese, herbal teas, cider and poultry terrines. In summer, children can take part in the “atelier petit fermier” there. In December, a Christmas market at the Ferme de Marie-Jeanne presents products from 25 producers.
