Trails and Activities
The Respirando hiking route “Au rythme des clochetons” begins in Challes and follows an easy, 8 km route past local heritage features: meeting houses, bread ovens, washhouses, watering troughs and fountains.
The 17 km “Gorges de l’Arzon” hiking route begins at the Place de la Fontaine in Chomelix. It follows the Voie Bollène and crosses the Arzon at Chomelix-le-Bas using 47 steps carved into the rock. The different route lengths make it easier to compare the scope of a hike in advance. For your own planning, you can view the starting point, route and type of activity side by side.
The two hiking options combine different ways of exploring the trails: the shorter route starts in Challes and passes several examples of local heritage, while the longer route crosses the Arzon via the Voie Bollène and the steps carved into the rock near Chomelix-le-Bas. In addition, orienteering and tennis are available in Chomelix as separate activities.
Chomelix has a permanent introductory orienteering course with 18 fixed markers. There is also an outdoor tennis court that can be used without a reservation.
