Arlempdes: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Arlempdes is dominated by a basalt rock approximately one hundred metres high and is surrounded on three sides by the young, wild Loire. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Arlempdes will plan their trip around this village.

Culture and History

The remains of Château d'Arlempdes were listed as a historic monument by decree on 27 February 1926. The Église Saint-Pierre was also classified as a historic monument by decree on 16 September 1907. Its bell tower features 16th-century arcades.

Visit

Château d'Arlempdes is open from 21 March to mid-October 2026, except on Mondays. Tickets for Château d'Arlempdes are issued in the village at the Le Manoir bar-restaurant. Château d'Arlempdes can be visited as part of a self-guided tour. In summer, groups of more than ten people can reserve a guided tour of Château d'Arlempdes. The visitor programme at Château d'Arlempdes also includes concerts and exhibitions.

The PR154 La roche des Bonnes-Dames trail in the woods begins and ends in Arlempdes. The route is a 10-kilometre, very easy hiking trail. The 5.6-kilometre hike “Rencontre entre Loire et volcans” offers an elevated view of Arlempdes.
