Between Solignac-sur-Loire and Le Brignon, the Cascade de la Beaume is located at an altitude of 900 metres. The waterfall is 27 metres high and was formed by the erosion of the basalt plateau by the Ourzie River.
From the car park, a 20-minute walk along the river leads to the panoramic viewpoint at the Cascade de la Beaume.

Culture and History
Today, only a few remnants of the fortifications and part of the square tower wall remain of the Château de Solignac-sur-Loire. The partly protected Romanesque Church of Saint Vincent has a nave with a broken barrel vault; its south wall contains burial niches and bas-reliefs, while the apse was renovated at the end of the 15th century.
The Church of Saint Vincent and the adjoining ruins of the former château, which contain the cemetery, form a heritage ensemble well worth seeing. The church also houses the sculpture group “Vierge noire à l'Enfant dite Notre-Dame de Solignac”.
Abri Laborde, also known as Abri de Baume Vallée, is an archaeological site with a rock shelter dating from the Middle Palaeolithic and Upper Palaeolithic.
Hiking and Nature
PR067 is a difficult hiking route measuring 10.6 kilometres, with a duration of around three hours. The route returns to Solignac-sur-Loire via the voie verte and includes a section along the river.
