In the “Emblavez entre Loire et Volcans” area, there are 12 mountain biking routes awarded by the French Cycling Federation. Vorey is a starting point for local PR hiking routes. The long-distance GR 3 hiking trail runs through Vorey along the Loire. Vorey is also a stage on the GR 40, the Tour des volcans du Velay, and the GR 765, the pilgrimage route between Cluny and Le Puy-en-Velay.

History and Village Life

The Church of Saint-Symphorien in Vorey is a Romanesque church dating from the 12th century. Construction work on it was completed in 1899. The municipality of Vorey sur Arzon has seven communal bread ovens that are still operational.

A tour of Vorey town centre is available as an audio guide or in text form. A weekly market takes place in Vorey every Sunday morning. L’Embarcadère is a 230-seat venue equipped for artists from various disciplines and available for events.

By the Water

Families can fish at Étang de l’Arc-en-Ciel in Vorey; fishing equipment can be rented there on site. Subject to suitable conditions, Stand Up Paddle à Vorey offers a supervised 6 km descent of the river.

The canoe base in Vorey is located 200 metres from Vorey-sur-Arzon railway station. A footpath connects Vorey’s watersports centre with the ULVF holiday village.

Vorey Tourist Information Office is located in L’Embarcadère. It provides information about Emblavez and the Haute-Loire département.
