The Maison des Princes de Monaco was built in the 16th century and served as a residence for the Princes of Monaco during their visits. The Church of Saint Peter also reflects several historical periods: it has Romanesque origins, 56 carved corbels, known as modillions, have survived from its first construction phase, and the present church was rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style.
